'Stree 2' is literally stealing shows of rivals 'Vedaa,' 'KKM'
The Independence Day weekend has witnessed a fierce box office battle between three films, Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa. However, the horror-comedy sequel Stree 2 is emerging as the clear winner, causing a significant reduction in the number of screens allotted to its competitors. According to Zoom, PVR outlets across India have cut down shows for Vedaa by 38% and Khel Khel Mein by about 30%.

Amar Kaushik's Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office, surpassing even the most optimistic predictions. On the other hand, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein have underperformed, leading to a decrease in their screen count. A top industry source shared: "Three films releasing on any day—is not a commercially viable decision. The exhibition circuit would've appreciated it if Vedaa and KKM had played the waiting game."
