    What's the story

Excitement is in the air as Bollywood is all set to bring the extraordinary life of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh to the big screen.

The biopic, announced on Tuesday by T-Series, will be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ravi Bhagchandka.

It aims to highlight Singh's remarkable achievements in cricket, including his unforgettable six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup and his pivotal contributions to India's 2011 World Cup victory.

    Movie details

Biopic will also feature Singh's off-field battles

Apart from his incredible cricketing journey, the upcoming biopic will also shed light on Singh's off-field battles.

This includes his fight against cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2011, and his triumphant return to the sport in 2012.

The film's title and lead actor have not been revealed yet. Bhagchandka, who previously produced Sachin: A Billion Dreams—a sports documentary on cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar—will co-produce the project.

    Producer's statement

'Singh's life is a compelling narrative of resilience, triumph...'

Kumar expressed his excitement about the project, stating, "Yuvraj Singh's life is a compelling narrative of resilience, triumph, and passion. His journey from a promising cricketer to a cricketing hero, and then to a hero in real life, is truly inspiring."

He added that he is thrilled to bring Singh's story to the big screen and celebrate his extraordinary achievements.

Official photos of Kumar posing with Singh and the other co-producers were released on social media.

    Cricket career

Singh's cricketing journey: From debut to retirement

Son of former Indian fast bowler and Punjabi actor Yograj Singh, Singh made his debut in the Punjab Under-16 cricket team at the age of 13.

He was named player of the tournament in the 2000 Under-19 World Cup, which India won, and was subsequently inducted into the senior team.

Singh's aggressive batting style and electric fielding quickly earned him recognition.

He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019. He last represented India in 2017, against the West Indies.
