    'Angry Young Men': Salim-Javed docuseries gets release date!

    The much-anticipated docuseries Angry Young Men, chronicling the lives of iconic Bollywood screenwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

    On Saturday, Salman Khan shared the first look poster along with the premiere date: August 20.

    The three-part series is a joint production by Salman Khan Films, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar's Excel Media & Entertainment, and Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti's Tiger Baby.

    'Angry Young Men' to delve into Salim-Javed's life, work

    Angry Young Men will reportedly delve into the life and work of the legendary screenwriting duo Salim-Javed, who penned some of Bollywood's biggest hits in the 1970s including Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, and Don.

    The series will provide a personal and candid account of their journey, their writing process, and their enduring legacy.

    It will also feature narration by Salim-Javed themselves.

    'Series goes beyond just storytelling,' says Prime Video India director

    Manish Menghani, Director of content Licensing at Prime Video India, expressed his excitement about the series.

    He said, "Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are trailblazers...The series goes beyond just storytelling; it delves into the heart and soul of Hindi cinema..."

    Salman shared his personal connection with the series. He reportedly said, "Their love for cinema redefined heroism for an entire generation...Angry Young Men is a tribute to their creative brilliance and the profound impact they've had on Indian cinema."

    Zoya, Farhan shared thoughts on upcoming docuseries

    Zoya, daughter of Akhtar, also commented on the series. She said, "Angry Young Men is about the two men that created a character that has pretty much defined Hindi cinema in the 70s."

    Meanwhile, brother Farhan added: "Their journey was marked by grit, passion, and a fierce zeal to transform Hindi cinema...Angry Young Men is a testament to the genius and the legacy of these two undeniable forces of nature."
