Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun donate ₹1cr each for AP-Telangana flood relief
Several Telugu film celebrities, including Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, and Mahesh Babu, have pledged monetary support to aid flood relief operations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These states have been severely impacted by torrential rains and subsequent flooding. The actors' contributions are aimed at the Chief Minister's Relief Funds of both states. Actor Prabhas has also donated a significant amount of ₹2 crore to the CM Flood Relief.
Chiranjeevi and Arjun donate ₹1 crore each
Chiranjeevi and Arjun have each pledged ₹1 crore toward flood relief efforts, with ₹50 lakh allocated to each state. Chiranjeevi expressed his distress over the hardships faced by the people in a social media post. He wrote, "The loss of tens of innocent lives is very tragic. Under the direction of the Chief Ministers of the Telugu states, both governments are working hard to improve the situation."
Arjun expressed sadness over loss and suffering
Arjun also shared his sentiments on social media, stating, "I'm saddened by the loss and suffering caused by the devastating rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In these challenging times, I humbly donate ₹1 crore in total to the CM Relief Funds of both states to support the relief efforts. Praying for everyone's safety." Meanwhile, actors Babu and Jr NTR have pledged to donate ₹50 lakh each toward relief work in the flood-affected states.
Flood situation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Torrential rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have resulted in the loss of 35 lives, with significant damage to infrastructure and agriculture. Thousands of acres of crops are submerged, roads have been damaged, and rail tracks flooded. As the heavy rains abated on Tuesday, floodwaters began to recede in many areas, allowing the state governments to intensify relief operations in the affected regions.
