Jr NTR donates whopping ₹1cr for AP, Telangana flood victims
South Indian superstar Jr NTR has donated ₹50 lakh each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to assist those affected by the recent floods. The actor took to social media to express his condolences to the victims of the disaster, which was triggered by heavy rainfall in both states. Other celebrities have also extended financial aid.
'I pray Telugu people recover from this calamity soon'
NTR wrote on social media, "I am deeply moved by the recent floods in two Telugu states due to heavy rains. I pray to God that Telugu people recover from this calamity soon." He added, "On my part, I am announcing a donation of ₹50 lakh each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments."
Actor Vishwak Sen also extends financial aid
Apart from NTR, actor Vishwak Sen has also donated a total of ₹10 lakh to the CMRF of both states. He expressed his sorrow over the ongoing situation and said, "This contribution is a small step toward alleviating the suffering of those affected by the floods."
31 dead, over 4.5L displaced due to floods
The floods, which have been attributed to a depression over the Vidarbha region, have resulted in at least 31 deaths and the displacement of over 4.5 lakh people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Indian Meteorological Department had previously issued a warning about the possibility of heavy rain. Around 140 trains have been canceled and many have been diverted due to the disaster.
NTR to star in upcoming film 'Devara Part 1'
On the professional front, NTR is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated film with Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor. The film, titled Devara Part 1, is set to hit theaters on September 27. The movie is set against the backdrop of coastal regions in India and will feature NTR in dual roles.
