    What's the story

    As an addition to its line up of mid-budget smartphone in India, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones in the country.

    Launched alongside the Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 models, both A6 and A6+ offer Super AMOLED Infinity Display, a metal unibody design and Artificial Intelligence powered camera features.

    Design & Display

    At a glance

    With support for dual-SIM (Nano) cards, both Galaxy A and A+ offer a metal unibody design and are available in blue, black and gold color options.

    In terms of display, Galaxy A6 gets a 5.6-inch HD+ (720x1480 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display while the A6+ features a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080x2220 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity Display.

    Notably, both phones offer an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

    Camera

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Galaxy A6 gets a 16-megapixel f/1.7 rear camera and a 16-megapixel f/1.9 camera on the front. Both cameras get dedicated LED flash as well.

    The Galaxy A6+ offers a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 16-megapixel f/1.7 primary sensor and 5-megapixel f/1.9 secondary sensor with LED flash.

    On the front, A6+ offers a 24-megapixel camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

    AI camera features on both the Galaxy A6 and A6+

    Both phones get a new camera app that offers features such as Live Bokeh, Background Blur Shape and a variable selfie flash functionality that allows users to adjust light exposure. Moreover, A6, and A6+ get AI camera in Samsung Mall, and Samsung Pay Mini apps also.

    Storage, Battery

    Under the hood

    The Galaxy A6 gets a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7 series processor, paired with 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB onboard storage (expandable up to 256GB) and packs a 3,000mAh battery.

    The A6+ comes with a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage (expandable up to 256GB) and packs a 3,500mAh battery.

    Notably, both phones run Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience on top.

    Nitty-Gritty

    Connectivity options and Sensors onboard Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+

    In terms of connectivity both the Galaxy A6 and A6+ offer 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Along with standard sensors, both smartphones sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

    Other common features include a 'Chat over Video' feature that allows users to chat while simultaneously watching videos, and memory management features such as delete duplicate images, zip unused apps.

    Price & Availability

    A6 starts at Rs. 21,990 while A6+ costs Rs. 25,990

    Samsung Galaxy A6 costs Rs. 21,990 and Rs. 22,990 for the 32GB and 64GB storage variant, respectively. On the other hand, Galaxy A6+ costs Rs. 25,990.

    The phones will go on sale starting May 22 via Paytm Mall, Amazon India, and Samsung India e-store and retail stores.

    Buyers will get Rs. 3,000 cashback via Paytm Mall and on purchases made using ICICI Credit cards.
