    What's the story

Samsung has launched its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones in India at a starting price of Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900, respectively.

The latest flagship devices were launched globally at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona last month.

The smartphones will start selling in the country from March 16.

    Here is more on them.

    USP

Galaxy S9 has the best smartphone camera yet

The USP of the Galaxy S9 is its dual aperture camera, which can shoot at f/2.4 when there's ample lighting, but is capable of switching to f/1.5 when the phone detects low-light conditions.

In fact, the smartphone has beaten the Google Pixel 2 and iPhone X to claim the title of the smartphone with the best camera yet.

    Features

The smartphone features Intelligent Scan, AR Emoji

The other headline features of the device are the super slow-mo camera that's capable of recording 960 frames per second, AR Emoji that allows users to project their facial expressions onto emojis, and the Intelligent Scan feature that combines an Iris scanner and facial recognition technology.

The phones will be available in the colors of black, blue, and the new lilac purple.

    Specs

Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch display, 4 GB of RAM

The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, a 12MP primary camera, and an 8MP front camera.

It is powered by the 1.7GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 9810 processor and runs the Android 8.0 operating system.

The device's connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and its sensors include Compass, Magnetometer, Accelerometer, and Barometer.

    Pre-registeration

Be among the first ones to buy the phone

Pre-registrations for Samsung's latest Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones are already open on Airtel's online store for Indian buyers.

Alternatively, the flagship devices can also be pre-booked through Samsung's official website in India. For that, interested buyers will have to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000 as token.

E-commerce website Flipkart will begin pre-booking the phones from today itself.
