    What's the story

    Huawei-owned Honor has launched its latest Honor 8X smartphone in India.

    The key highlights of the phone are its full-HD+ notched display, AI-powered cameras, up to 6GB RAM, and a mid-range Kirin 710 processor.

    The Honor 8X's price starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage option and it will go on sale via Amazon starting October 24.

    Design & Display

    Honor 8X: At a glance

    Up front, the phone sports an edge-to-edge notched display with a slim bottom bezel to boast a 91% screen-to-body ratio.

    Further, on the back, there's a glass panel which features a double textured design and houses a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor.

    The Honor 8X features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340-pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 397ppi.

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Honor 8X sports a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 20-MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, paired with a 2-MP secondary sensor, and an LED flash.

    The primary camera comes with several AI-powered features such as Portrait Mode, Scene Recognition, AI Beauty and Super Night Shot among others.

    Up front, the phone gets a 16-MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper and comes with AI-based Backlight Portrait Selfies features.

    Under the hood

    The Honor 8X is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor, coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 400GB).

    The phone packs a 3,750mAh battery with support for 5V/2A (10W) charging and runs Android Oreo 8.1-based EMUI 8.2.

    Further, Honor has also offered Huawei's GPU Turbo technology that boosts graphics processing for gaming while reducing power consumption.

    Connectivity options and sensors onboard the Honor 8X

    In terms of connectivity options, the Honor 8X supports dual-SIM cards, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2 LE with aptX support, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, a Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Sensors onboard the phone include an ambient light sensor, compass, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.

    Further, the phone supports Dolby Atmos surround sound and packs stereo speakers.

    Honor 8X starts at Rs. 14,999

    In terms of pricing, the Honor 8X starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage option.

    Likewise, the mid-end 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 16,999 and the top-end 6GB RAM/128GB storage model will cost Rs. 18,999.

    The phone will be available exclusively via Amazon starting October 24 and will be offered in Black, Red, and Blue color options.
