    What's the story

The Diplomat, starring John Abraham, was released on Friday.

The movie, based on a true incident from 2017, revolves around how former Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj helped an Indian woman stranded in Pakistan with the assistance of a diplomat.

After its theatrical run, The Diplomat will be available on Netflix.

Going by the standard release window, it would arrive on the OTT platform around 90 days after its theatrical release.

    Actor's perspective

Abraham expressed pride in portraying J.P. Singh

Abraham, who essays the role of J.P. Singh in the movie, said, "Diplomacy is a battlefield where words carry more weight than weapons. Playing J.P. Singh allowed me to explore a world where power is defined by intellect, resilience, and quiet heroism."

He continued, "Uzma's story is a testament to India's strength and courage, and I'm proud to bring this inspiring journey to life on screen."

    Director's comments

Director praised Abraham's performance in 'The Diplomat'

Director Shivam Nair also lauded Abraham's performance in The Diplomat.

He said, "The Diplomat is a tribute to the unsung heroes who wield strategy and patience to protect their nation. Through J.P. Singh's story, we've captured the art of diplomacy—where tact triumphs over aggression—and John's performance perfectly embodies this spirit of resilience and strength."

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar (T-Series), Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, and Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), among others.
