'TMKOC': Palak Sidhwani talks about playing Sonu in the show
What's the story
Months after Nidhi Bhanushali aka Sonu left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the makers have finally found her replacement.
As per the recent buzz, Palak Sidhwani will be stepping into Nidhi's shoes on TMKOC.
Confirming the news, the young actress stated, "I'm so delighted to be a part of a show that I've watched growing up and has made me laugh through the years."

I will do my best to adapt Sonu's character: Palak
Palak will be playing the role of Madhavi and Bhide's daughter in TMKOC.
Expressing her gratitude, Palak stated that she is ecstatic about joining the "world's most loved TV serial."
"To know that I too am going to contribute to making people laugh is just too overwhelming a feeling to put in words. I will do my best to adapt Sonu's character," she added.

Meanwhile, TMKOC makers are also elated to have Palak on board for the show and believe that she is the perfect choice for the role.
"We have complete faith in her to entertain the audiences and we feel that Palak's presence will bring back the camaraderie and charm that Sonu's character brings to Tapu Sena and to Gokuldham," producer Asit Modi said.

Sonu to surprise her parents with her unannounced return
As per the ongoing track of TMKOC, Sonu's character has been away for pursuing her studies. However, she would soon be returning to the Gokuldham society and have contacted the Tapu Sena seeking their help to surprise her parents with her unannounced return.

Nidhi left 'TMKOC' to focus on her studies
To recall, Nidhi, who became a household name with her portrayal of Sonu for six years, had left TMKOC in February to focus on her studies.
It was reported that the 19-year-old actress wanted to complete her graduation.
Although makers did try to work things out, Nidhi found it hard to strike a balance between studies and shooting; and hence decided to quit TMKOC.
Replacement
Disha Vakani is likely to get replaced soon on 'TMKOC'
On a related note, there have been reports that Disha Vakani, who played the role of Dayaben, will also be replaced on the show.
Disha had left TMKOC taking a maternity break, almost two years back.
The actress was expected to return on the show post her maternity break.
However, she kept procrastinating her comeback, until she finally left the show early this year.
Condition
Disha was to return, but her demands were unacceptable
It was also reported that the makers were keen to have Disha back, but they failed to meet the conditions she had put forth for her comeback.
Among some conditions, she had asked for a change in working hours and insisted for a 15-day work schedule per month, and that too only for four hours each day.
She had also demanded a massive fee-hike.
