    What's the story

The excitement for Salman Khan's upcoming film, Sikandar, is palpable as it gears up for release on Sunday.

Despite initial skepticism due to a late trailer release, the buzz has now increased, and this is reflected in ticket prices in major cities.

Premium seats in multiplexes exceed ₹2000, while recliner seats in select single-screen theaters are priced as high as ₹700, showcasing the film's massive popularity.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar also features Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal.

    Advance booking

Booking for 'Sikandar' shows strong demand

Advance booking for Sikandar started on Thursday, with BookMyShow opening tickets for almost all theaters across India by Thursday evening.

Plaza Cinema in Mumbai's Dadar has priced its recliner seats at ₹700 for evening shows—a whopping amount for a single-screen theater.

While some see the surge in ticket prices as a sign of high demand, others fear it may keep audiences away.

    Premium pricing

Multiplexes adopt premium pricing for 'Sikandar'

Multiplexes have already gone premium on Sikandar's release.

In Mumbai, formats like 'Director's Cut' or 'Luxe' tickets are being sold for as high as ₹2200, catering to audiences eager for a luxury cinematic experience.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, the prices range between ₹1600 and ₹1900. Despite such exorbitant prices, many Delhi-NCR screens are already sold out.

Even regular multiplex seats are priced steeply at ₹850-900 in several theaters, making Sikandar one of the biggest Bollywood releases in recent times.

    Strong start

'Sikandar' off to a decent start in advance booking

Sikandar has got a decent start in advance booking, collecting just under ₹4cr in the initial 24 hours.

With two complete days remaining for the release, this number is bound to increase considerably.

The movie would also witness a wave of spot bookings in smaller centers, further adding to its day one collection.

Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj play supporting roles in the film.
