Remo D'Souza says 'Be Happy' isn't like Salman Khan's film

    What's the story

Choreographer-filmmaker Remo D'Souza has clarified that his upcoming film Be Happy, which revolves around a father-daughter bond, is not similar to the script he had written for Salman Khan.

Featuring Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma, it will be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 14.

D'Souza said he pitched a father-daughter story to Khan in 2017, reportedly titled Dancing Dad, which is different from Be Happy.

    Script distinction

D'Souza on difference between 'Be Happy' and previous script

Speaking to PTI, D'Souza said, "I don't know how the tentative title of that [previous] film came about. That film was something else; that script is still with Salman sir. There is no similarity between this script and that script."

He added, "I've many such scripts of father-daughter. It's not like there is only one. There's one film that we are also trying to make with Nassar sir. It is not related to dance but something different."

    Personal touch

'Be Happy' inspired by real-life experiences

D'Souza, who has written "Be Happy" with Kanishka Singh Deo and Chirag Garg, further revealed that the film was inspired by real-life experiences.

He said, "Apart from commercial films...I make sure that whatever films I do, I incorporate some real-life incident or experience that I've had into my films."

"So, some portions of Be Happy are real; for instance, the character of Shiv is thematically similar to my father," added the director.

    Upcoming projects

D'Souza is working on 'ABCD 3'

D'Souza also revealed that he is working on the third installment of his dance-musical franchise, ABCD.

He said, "No dance-based films are being made today. ABCD 3 will come for sure. We will have actors in it who know dance."

The ABCD franchise started with ABCD: Anybody Can Dance in 2013, led by actor-choreographer-director Prabhu Deva. Then, the makers followed it up with a sequel, titled ABCD 2 in 2015, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.
