FIR against Orry for consuming alcohol near Vaishno Devi
What's the story
Social media star Orhan Awatramani, aka Orry, and seven others were booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in the base camp for the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, Katra.
Notably, the consumption of alcohol and non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited in the area to maintain the sanctity of the shrine.
Among those booked is Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, who accompanied Orry and his friends to Katra.

FIR filed against Orry for 'hurting religious sentiments'
An FIR (No. 72/25) has been registered at the Katra Police Station naming Orry, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Arzamaskina as the main accused.
They are accused of violating the District Magistrate's order and "hurting religious sentiments."
The group was found drinking alcohol in Katra's Cottage Suite area, videos of which were shared by Orry and his friends on social media themselves, sparking outrage.

Investigation underway
Police investigation and consequences for Orry
After a complaint was lodged regarding the incident, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh stressed a zero-tolerance policy for any such action that disrupts the religious atmosphere.
The Reasi Police further said a special team, headed by SP Katra, Deputy SP Katra, and SHO Katra, was constituted to probe the matter.
All accused persons, including Orry, will be sent notices to join the probe.
Political reaction
Political leaders condemned the incident
The incident has drawn strong condemnation from political leaders, including Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma said he was disappointed that the religious sentiments were hurt by a Bollywood figure and called the actions "completely unacceptable" at such a revered site.
He also welcomed the police's swift action and the filing of the FIR and urged strict legal measures against those involved.
