Vidhu Vinod Chopra hopes to make 'Munnabhai 3' this year

After the mammoth success of Munnabhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munnabhai, the fans are eagerly waiting for the third installment of the franchise.
While reports of Munnabhai 3 have been doing the rounds for a while now, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra finally let the cat out of the bag.
The producer revealed that he is planning to make the much-awaited movie this year.
Delay
Didn't get proper script, Vidhu reveals reason behind delay
The Munnabhai franchise started in 2003 followed by a sequel in 2006. And it's been over a decade now that the reports of Munnabhai 3 are doing the rounds.
According to Vidhu, the movie got delayed as he didn't have a script worth making a film on.
"I haven't yet made my next Munna Bhai because I didn't get a proper script," he added.

Separately, Arshad Warsi spilled beans about 'Munnabhai 3'
Notably, the reports of Munnabhai 3 resurfaced this year after Circuit aka Arshad Warsi dropped hints about the movie.
During an interview, Arshad stated that the movie is likely to hit the floors this year.
"I do know from Raju that the script is pretty much ready. As of now, yes it's Sanju and me. These are the things I've been told," he added.
Allegations
'Munnabhai 3' put on hold after Hirani's sexual harassment allegations?
Arshad's statement did get everyone excited.
However, our hopes came down crashing after director Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual harassment.
Hirani was accused of molesting an assistant director of Sanju.
While Hirani dismissed the allegations, Munnabhai 3 was put on the back burner until he got a clean chit.
"An ICC set up by VVC Films will investigate the matter," a source stated.
The mail

Notably, sexual harassment allegations against Hirani came to light after the victim sent a mail addressing Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anupama Chopra, Abhijat Joshi, and Shelly Chopra Dhar.
"I remember forming these words on my lips - 'Sir. This is wrong. My mind, body and heart were grossly violated for 6 months," she wrote.
The victim alleged that Hirani assaulted her in his home office.
