    What's the story

    After four years of taking note of the illegality, the BMC demolished part of film actor Arshad Warsi's bungalow at Versova on Monday for allegedly constructing an additional floor illegally.

    With the bungalow locked, civic officials carried out only partial demolition.

    Warsi, who bought the property back in 2012, carried out the illegal construction while renovating the bungalow.

    Tejas Express will start at 9am, arrival time unchanged

    The high-speed luxurious Tejas Express will now depart at 9am instead of 7:30am from Goa. However its arrival time at 7:45pm in Mumbai will remain unchanged.

    The revised time is valid only during the monsoons, as the train has to run at restricted speed while crossing difficult terrain of Konkan.

    The revised departure time will come into effect from 22nd June onwards.

    FYJC admission portal to remain shut, glitches to be fixed

    The education department will shut down its online first-year junior college (FYJC) admission portal to fix glitches and thereby ensure that it doesn't crash again due to increased student rush.

    The site will be back on track by 10 am on Thursday.

    Starting Saturday, students and parents began complaining that they were unable to access FYJC portal as server did not load the webpage.

    Private school teacher held for sexually assaulting 5 minors

    In a shocking incident, a 54-year-old teacher was arrested for sexually assaulting three minor boys and two girls in Ulhasnagar.

    He is accused of targeting students aged 8-9 years and threatening them to keep quiet. He will be in custody till June 27.

    The incident came to light when a boy revealed to his mother that a teacher had sexually assaulted him and others.

    Maharashtra govt gives in to farmers' demands, dilutes norms for loan-waiver

    With the pressure from the farmers' groups and the Opposition mounting, the Maharashtra government diluted eligibility norms for farmers.

    This has made atleast 35 lakh more farmers eligible, bringing the total number to 65 lakh.

    Farmers' outfits had criticized the government for deciding the norms without discussing with them.

    With revised norms, the financial burden on the state exchequer is bound to increase.

    Mumbai ICSE schools against board exams in class 5,8

    The recent announcement of introducing board-level exams in Class 5 and 8 has been strongly disapproved by Mumbai schools.

    Experts say that this will affect the childhood of students.

    Maharashtra will be more affected as students already take competency tests thrice a year. If the proposal is implemented, then ICSE students will have take to competency tests, school-exams and board exams in a year.
