    Mumbai to get its first cable rail-bridge

    What's the story

    Mumbai could get its first cable-stayed rail overbridge (ROB) which will touch down at Dr E Moses Road near the Mahalaxmi race-course.

    It is currently awaiting sanction from railway officials and its cost is estimated at Rs. 80-90 crore.

    The existing Mahalaxmi ROB is highly congested with traffic. The proposed ROB will help ease decongestion.

    Mumbai police booked a woman Rajani (name changed) on the day of her wedding for abetting her ex-boyfriend's suicide.

    Hanny wanted to marry Rajani but she refused to get back with him.

    According to Hanny's father, Rajani accepted that Hanny met her and she was also shown a video in which he threatened to end his life but she refused to take him seriously.

    Mumbai firm duped of Rs. 14 crore by Delhi-based broker

    The economic offences wing of Mumbai has booked Delhi-based brokerage firm 4A Securities Ltd. for allegedly cheating Mumbai-based investment firm Ms Kautik Properties Pvt Ltd. of Rs. 14.46 crore.

    The complainant told the police that 4A Securities Ltd. has refused to return the shares, which were kept as collateral security even after completion of business deals.

    Presidential Polls: Shiv Sena keeps BJP guessing

    Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sena's 51st foundation day said that if BJP chose a Dalit for electoral gains, then Sena has no interest in backing it.

    BJP announced Ram Nath Kovind as its candidate for presidential polls that are scheduled to be held on July 17.

    Thackeray will have a meeting with party leaders to discuss it.

    Mumbai FYJC admissions: Online portal crashes due to student rush

    Despite adding more servers to handle increased traffic, the admissions portal crashed several times and only 67, 289 out of two lakh applicants - were able to fill up both forms for admissions to first-year junior college seats.

    This year, over 2.5 lakh students are competing for seats.

    For the first time, the department centralized the admissions and made the process online.

    Water shortage

    Maharashtra water cuts: Water stock drops to 8% in some parts

    With the delay in monsoon showers in some parts of Maharashtra, water stocks dropped to 8.42% in Vidarbha's districts, while the overall drop in state dams has come down to 15.47%.

    If the delay continues, districts might have to face drinking water paucity in the future.

    According to government figures, Konkan district, which includes Mumbai and Thane, has the highest water stock at 37.06%.
