    What's the story

Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's Kill, dubbed "India's most violent" film, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 6.

Starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, the film was released in theaters on July 5. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Produced by Apoorva Mehta, Achin Jain, Guneet Monga, and Karan Johar, Kill emerged as a critical and commercial success at the box office.

    OTT details

'Kill' to stream on Disney+ Hotstar post-theatrical release

On Friday, Disney+ Hotstar announced the OTT premiere of the film with a post that featured a teaser clip.

The message in the clip stated: "Due to the highly violent nature of the content, we are unable to show this to you...But we can make you hear it."

This indicates that certain violent scenes will be censored, with an uncut version also set to be available on the streaming platform.

    Film synopsis

    'Kill' plot: A daring quest and a death-defying kill-spree

Kill follows the story of army commando Amrit (Lakshya) who discovers that his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is being forced into an arranged marriage.

He embarks on a daring mission to stop the wedding by boarding a New Delhi-bound train.

However, his journey takes a dangerous turn when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the merciless Fani starts terrorizing innocent passengers on the train.

Amrit single-handedly confronts them in a death-defying kill spree to protect those around him.

    Hollywood adaptation

'Kill' to get a Hollywood version

In a recent development, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, the producers behind John Wick, have announced plans to create an English version of Kill.

The Hindi-language film is partnering with a Hollywood company for its theatrical distribution in the US and the UK.

"Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible," Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, remarked, adding that they have "big shoes to fill."
