    What's the story

Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda is likely to be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday evening after suffering a leg injury due to an accidental revolver misfire at his Mumbai home.

The incident took place early on Tuesday morning when he was getting ready to leave for the airport.

Despite the unfortunate event, Govinda assured his fans that he is recovering well in a statement released later in the day.

    Nihalani's statement

Close friend Pahlaj Nihalani revealed the update

Pahlaj Nihalani, a close friend of Govinda, expressed concern over the incident in an exclusive interview with Zoom.

He stated, "If anything happens, I would be the first to reach."

"I tried calling Govinda. Then I called his secretary Shashi who informed me that Govinda is likely to be discharged this evening. I will go to his home once he is back."

    Safety concerns

Nihalani highlighted risks of keeping firearms at home

Nihalani also highlighted the risks of having firearms at home, recalling a tragic incident involving filmmaker Brij Sadanah.

He said, "One has to be very, very careful with ammunition at home."

"Luckily Govinda ko kuch bhi nahin hua. Lekin bahot kuch ho sakta tha (Luckily nothing happened to Govinda, but a lot could have happened)."

    Incident details

Meanwhile, Govinda's manager provided details about the incident

Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, shared that the accident took place around 4:45am when the actor was getting ready to leave for a 6:00am flight to Kolkata for a show.

While the details about his injuries and current condition are still under wraps, Sinha did confirm that Govinda is out of danger and is currently recovering at a private hospital in Mumbai.
