    What's the story

Amitabh Bachchan, who enjoys a massive fan following, recently revealed that he's a big fan of veteran actress Waheeda Rehman.

The megastar made this confession on Superstar Singer, while singing praises for his Trishul co-star.

Bachchan also recalled that he once carried the actress' juttis on the sets of one of their movies, adding "can't even express how special the moment is to me."

    Incident

Bachchan recalls an anecdote from his first movie with Waheeda

Talking about Reshma aur Shera, his first movie with Waheeda, Bachchan stated that there was a sequence where the actress was sitting barefoot in a desert with Sunil Dutt.

"I was so worried about how Waheeda ji was managing to shoot in such extreme conditions, that too without footwear," he added.

So, he ran towards Waheeda holding her jutti soon after the scene ended.

    Quote

"Can't express how special the moment is to me"

"As soon as the director announced a break, without wasting time, I took Waheeda ji's juttis and ran towards her. I can't even express how special the moment is to me," the 76-year-old actor added. Notably, Bachchan played a supporting role in the movie.

    Praise

Waheeda ji a perfect example of an Indian woman: Bachchan

Furthermore, the Black actor praised Waheeda for her impeccable acting skills, and for being a "great human being by her nature."

"Waheeda ji has always been the most beautiful woman to me to date. For me, she's a perfect example of an Indian woman. She has given huge and incredible contribution to our Bollywood Industry which cannot be expressed through words," Bachchan emphasized.

    Fun fact

Waheeda played onscreen mother to Bachchan, Jaya and Abhishek

For the uninitiated, Bachchan and Waheeda have shared the screen space in several movies like Kabhi Kabhie, Namak Halal, Trishul etc.

Interestingly, Bachchan also shared a fun fact about Waheeda saying that the actress has played a mother not only to him (in Trishul), but also to his wife Jaya (in Phagun) and son Abhishek (in Om Jai Jagdish) on the big screen.

    Quote

"Perhaps, I'll play mother or grandmother to Abhishek's kids someday"

While the audience was amazed by the revelation, Waheeda herself found it quite amusing. "It feels happy and ajeeb (weird) at the same time. If it continues this way, perhaps I will play mother or grandmother to Abhishek's kids someday!" she laughingly noted.

    Upcoming movies

For now, Bachchan is looking forward to two big releases

Meanwhile, on the work front, Big B is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 11.

He is also gearing up for his two big releases this year: Surender Reddy's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy with South superstar Chiranjeevi in lead and Nagraj Manjule's Jhund.

Besides, he is working on Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and will also share the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana in Gulabo Sitabo.
