    What's the story

Leading online travel company EaseMyTrip has announced plans to invest ₹200 crore in manufacturing electric buses in Madhya Pradesh.

CEO Rikant Pittie made the announcement at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal.

The firm's ambitious project will see 500 electric buses introduced across the state this year, which it hopes to double by next year.

Subsidiaries secure tender for electric bus launch

EaseMyTrip's subsidiaries YoloBus as well as Easy Green Mobility have won a tender to deploy electric buses in Sagar and other cities in Madhya Pradesh.

"We have signed an agreement. It's actually a tender wherein we have been able to provide quite a lot of buses to Sagar State," Pittie said.

    Sustainability pledge

Commitment to sustainable transport and EV industry

The CEO stressed that this move is in sync with India's burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market, which is worth $3 billion and growing at an 18% CAGR.

"We are going to provide sustainable transport, as the EV industry is already booming," Pittie said.

The company has got board approval for this investment and will strategically deploy funds to set up a dedicated manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh.

    Launch timeline

First electric bus to hit roads by August

Pittie revealed that the first electric bus from this initiative is likely to hit MP's roads by August. This move highlights EaseMyTrip's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, with plans for domestic production of these buses.
