Karnataka BJP President BS Yeddyurappa flew in from Bengaluru to lead others in "Mangaluru Chalo" rally at Mangaluru's Nehru Maidan even as police stepped up security across the state.

Permission denied to BJP's Mangaluru rally
On 4 September, Mangaluru Police Commissioner TR Suresh issued orders denying permission to BJP's bike rally for maintaining peace.
Karnataka BJP President Yeddyurappa said they don't need anyone's permission for the rally being conducted by BJP's Yuva Morcha.
The rally is to protest against Hindu activists' murders in Mangaluru, demanding Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai's resignation for backing anti-Hindu outfits.
