    What's the story

BJP in Karnataka has been denied permission by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government to organize "Mangaluru Chalo" bike rally in Bengaluru.

BJP leaders were agitated by the government's move; however, they said they will proceed with the rally.

The rally is to protest against Hindu activists' murders in Mangaluru, demanding Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai's resignation for backing anti-Hindu outfits.

Samarasya Nadige: Congress's rally to counter BJP's

To counter BJP's rally, Congress would conduct "walk for communal harmony" rally in Mangaluru on 12 September.

The walkathon named "Samarasya Nadige" would be organized from Mangaluru's Farangipet to Maane.

Congress claimed BJP's rally is a tool to whip up communal sentiments in the coastal region.

It added the bike rally would cause disharmony in the communally-sensitive Mangaluru and lead to traffic bottlenecks.
