    What's the story

Legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has welcomed cricket's inclusion in the 2028 LA Olympics.

Addressing the RCB Innovation Lab Leadership Summit on Saturday, he said retirement isn't on his immediate agenda.

Kohli jokingly said he might think about coming out of T20I retirement for an Olympic gold-medal match.

"I just might sneak in for one game, if we are playing the gold-medal match!" he quipped.

He stressed, "As long as that is intact, I'll continue to play the game."

Speaking about a conversation with former coach Rahul Dravid, he said it's important to stay connected with yourself and know where you stand in life.

He said that their training sessions felt less like a chore and more like time spent with friends.

The former Indian captain credited their victory to the team's adaptability to changing conditions during matches.

"I think it came out beautifully. The guys adapted well to what was in front of them," he lauded.

    Global expansion

Kohli acknowledges the growth of cricket globally

Kohli also acknowledged the global expansion of cricket, with more teams and leagues coming up across the globe.

He credited the IPL for its role in this growth, adding that it's a great opportunity for Indian players.

"It's a great opportunity for our guys. To be Olympic champions would be a magnificent feeling," he added.

    Resilience

Kohli's journey through setbacks and fitness

Speaking about his journey through setbacks, Kohli said acceptance is the key to deal with disappointments.

He stressed on the importance of physical fitness in cricket, revealing he had to change his preparation as an athlete.

After becoming captain, he instilled a culture of fitness in the team, which has now become a part of Indian cricket's ethos.

"After I became captain, we started to bring in this kind of culture into the team as well," he stated.

Meanwhile, RCB will kick off their campaign on March 22, against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens.
