    Chennai Super Kings's (CSK) star all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is determined to shine for the team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

    Ravindra played a key role in CSK's four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in their tournament opener in Chennai, scoring an impressive 65* runs off just 45 balls.

    The innings marked a successful start to the IPL 2025 season with the team."

    Ravindra's debut season: A dream come true

    Ravindra, who was bought by CSK using the right-to-match card ahead of IPL 2025, said it was an honor to open for such a prestigious team.

    "It's always an honor to open for CSK knowing the history of it," he said after the game.

    The young player also acknowledged the legacy of legendary players such as Michael Hussey and Shane Watson, who have opened for CSK, adding to his excitement about the opportunity."

    Match impact

    Ravindra's pivotal role in IPL opener

    In CSK's opening match of the season against MI, Ravindra was instrumental.

    He stitched a solid partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad, adding 67 runs for the second wicket.

    Despite going through a rough patch when CSK lost three middle-order wickets in quick succession, he stood his ground and hit two sixes off left-arm wristspinner Vignesh Puthur in the 18th over to guide his team home.

    Notably, CSK were chasing 156 to win the contest.

    Preparation

    Ravindra's training regimen ahead of IPL 2025

    Ravindra also gave an insight into his training ahead of the IPL season.

    "It hasn't been too much training because I've been playing a lot of cricket, especially in the Champions Trophy," he said.

    This constant exposure to competitive cricket has prepared him for the same in the IPL, making sure he was ready for the IPL 2025 season with CSK.
