Former Indian cricketer Wriddhiman Saha has stressed on the importance of MS Dhoni's continued presence in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He feels Dhoni's exit could affect Chennai Super Kings's (CSK) fanbase.

Saha praised Dhoni for his incredible fitness and longevity at 43 years of age, saying the legendary cricketer continues to inspire fans with his relentless commitment.

Impact on franchise leagues and fanbase

Saha emphasized on the role of star players in franchise leagues, citing Dhoni and Virat Kohli. He implied their presence increases fan support for the teams by a huge margin.

"Franchise leagues depend a lot on the fanbase," Saha explained during a CAB event. "For example if MS Dhoni leaves CSK, there could be a possibility we could see a dip in the number of fans."

This will be Dhoni's 18th consecutive appearance in the league where he will wear his iconic yellow jersey once again.
