    What's the story

India women's pace spearhead, Jhulan Goswami has set another world record by becoming the first woman in ODI history to claim 200 wickets.

The lanky pacer achieved the feat during the second ODI against South Africa in Kimberley.

The 35-year-old dismissed Laura Wolvaardt to achieve the remarkable feat in her 166th ODI.

    Interesting trivia

The first ever male cricketer to reach 200 ODI wickets was also an Indian. Former Indian captain, Kapil Dev was the first to take 200 ODI wickets. Interestingly, he also achieved the feat in his 166th ODI.

The lanky Indian pacer holds the record for the most 4 wicket hauls by an Indian in ODIs. She has achieved the feat on 7 occasions.

When you get better than the one who inspired you

Jhulan, who made her ODI debut in 2002, became the highest wicket-taker in Women's ODIs in May 2017. She eclipsed the record held by Cathryn Fitzpatrick of Australia. Cathryn was Jhulan's idol and was the reason she decided to become a fast bowler.

    The Queen

    Stamping her authority

Jhulan also holds the record for the most number of wickets in 3 different grounds.

At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Jhulan has claimed 16 wickets.

At the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in New Zealand the speedster has got the better of the batsman on 11 occasions and at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai she has claimed 10 scalps.

    Unlucky captain

    Leading from the front

Jhulan, who was the former India captain, holds the record for the second best bowling figures by a captain.

Her 6/31 is also the second-best bowling performance by an Indian captain after former Indian player Mamatha Maben's 6/10.

This is also the best figure which have come in a losing cause in a women's ODI.

Only Indian to win ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year

In 2007, the India pacer was awarded the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year award and still remains the only Indian female cricketer to win the prestigious award.

Jhulan was also named the Indian Women Cricketer of the year in 2011 by BCCI.

At the 2005 Women's World Cup, she was the third highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
