    What's the story

Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will start their pre-season training for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) with a 10-day camp, starting February 27.

CSK's CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the development during a phone call on Wednesday.

The training camp will take place at the CSK High Performance Centre in Navalur. All available Indian players, including former captain MS Dhoni, are likely to attend the rigorous preparation period.

Viswanathan confirmed that all available players, including Dhoni, will be part of the pre-season training camp.

"It is at the High Performance Centre. We are planning for about 10 days. Indian players, whoever is available, are coming. Dhoni is also participating," he said on a phone call on Wednesday.

The official CSK X handle posted a photo of Dhoni arriving at Chennai airport yesterday, further confirming his participation in the upcoming camp.

    Squad arrival

CSK's squad members arrive for pre-season training

Several members of the CSK squad have already reached for the pre-season training camp.

These include skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, and batters Shaik Rasheed, Vansh Bedi, and Andre Siddarth.

The likes of Ramakrishna Ghosh, pacers Khaleel Ahmed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mukesh Choudhary, Anshul Kamboj, and Gurjapneet Singh are also in town.

The team's support staff including Tommy Simsek (physiotherapist) and Gregory King (trainer) have joined them too.

    CSK

How CSK fared in IPL 2024

CSK, the 2023 and five-time IPL champions, narrowly missed out on a playoff berth in 2024.

They bowed out after losing their final league-stage fixture against Royal Challengers. Though the target was 219, CSK needed 201 to secure a fourth-place finish. However, they were restricted to 191/7.

The Super Kings finished fifth in the table with seven wins in 14 matches (NRR: +0.392).
