    What's the story

The Indian boat racing team is set to feature at the upcoming Asian Games 2018 this month, which is to be held in Indonesia.

The move to include the team in the Indian contingent comes after the Delhi High Court ruled a decision in their favor.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had denied permission to the boat racing team earlier.

One of the members of the Indian boat racing team, Abhay Singh, had filed a petition in the High Court.

The petition was filed to question the decision by the IOA to not send the team at the Asian Games because of not meeting eligibility criteria.

The High Court ruled the matter in favor of the petitioner as it brought respite for the camp.

The IOA will now need to take all steps to make sure that the boating team is accredited.

IOA secretary Rajeev Mehta stated that they have sent the team's entry to the Games organizers.

They will now await the organizers' decision.

The IOA also had to clear men's handball team, last month, after the Allahabad High Court intervened.

Indian contingent for Asian Games set to rise further

An initial list consisting of 524 athletes was announced and a revision, last week, saw it increase to 541.

The Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association secretary, Prashant Kushwaha, stated that two teams consisting of 16 men and women respectively were supposed to feature in the competition.

But now he isn't sure about how many the Sports Ministry would clear.
