    What's the story

India returned to international boxing after its governing body Boxing Federation of India was unanimously granted full membership by the International Boxing Association (AIBA).

After its formation in September, BFI had already got recognition from the Sports Ministry.

Indian boxing has been in disarray since the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation was terminated in December 2012 for 'possible manipulation in elections.'

    About

    What is Indian Boxing Federation?

Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) is a governing body for Olympic boxing in India. It came into being as the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation in 1949.

The body was handed a provisional suspension by the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) in 2012 after it was found that its elections were rigged.

This led to Indian boxers representing India without the nation's flag.
