    What's the story

In a big boost for England ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, Ben Duckett has been declared fit to play.

The announcement comes after fears of a possible groin injury he suffered during England's last ODI against India in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, a statement released by England said that Duckett is fit and available for the Champions Trophy.

    Here's more.

    Details

    Duckett's injury and recovery

England opener Duckett sustained the injury while fielding in the first innings of the final ODI against India.

The official statement from England read: "Scans on a left groin injury have confirmed that England Men's batter Ben Duckett is fit and available for the ICC Champions Trophy."

The news comes as a relief to the team which had already lost Jacob Bethell due to a hamstring strain.

    Tournament schedule

    England's upcoming Champions Trophy campaign

Following a 3-0 ODI series loss to India, England will begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Australia in Lahore on February 22.

The team is set to arrive in Pakistan on February 18 ahead of the crucial opener.

They will then face Afghanistan at the same venue on February 26 before concluding the group stage against South Africa in Karachi on March 1.

    Past performance

England's Champions Trophy history and semi-finals structure

Though England have never won the Champions Trophy, they have reached the finals twice, losing to West Indies in 2004 and India in 2013.

The top two teams from each pool will reach the semi-finals on March 4 and 5.

The other group has India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.

The final of this prestigious tournament will be held on March 9.

    Numbers

    Duckett averages 46-plus in ODIs

Duckett had a modest performance in the recently ended ODI series, managing just 131 runs across three ODIs. His highest score was 65 (second ODI). In the other two matches, he scored 32 and 34 runs respectively.

Meanwhile, in ODIs he owns 831 runs in 19 matches at an average of 46.16. He has a strike rate of 102.71, including two tons, and six fifties. His highest score is 107* (vs Australia).
