    ICC Champions Trophy: Indian batters with most 50-plus scores

    What's the story

    The ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy will start on February 19, 2025. The tournament will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

    Team India, one of the favorites of this year's competition, has a rich history in the tournament with several players having achieved significant milestones.

    Here are Indian batters who have scored most 50-plus scores in this prestigious event.

    Shikhar Dhawan - 6

    Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan tops the list of top run-scorers for India in the Champions Trophy.

    He has scored a whopping 701 runs from just 10 matches at an average of 77.88 and strike rate of 101.59.

    His six 50-plus scores include three centuries and as many half-centuries.

    Dhawan's performance was key to India's win at the 2013 event, where he was the top-scorer with 363 runs.

    Sourav Ganguly - 6 

    Sourav Ganguly, another former left-handed opening batter, also features on this list.

    Like Dhawan, he has also touched the 50-run mark six times in CT.

    His tally includes 665 runs from 11 innings in 13 matches at an average of 73.88.

    Ganguly has three centuries and as many half-centuries in the competition.

    The southpaw was the captain of the Indian team which was named the joint-winners of the 2002 Champions Trophy.

    Rahul Dravid - 6 

    Rahul Dravid is the only other Indian batter with six 50-plus scores in the prestigious competition.

    He has amassed 627 runs at a phenomenal average of 48.23 from 19 CT games.

    Though he didn't score a single century at the event, but his tally includes six half-centuries.

    Notably, Dravid had led India in the 2006 Champions Trophy.

    Virat Kohli - 5 

    In his ICC Champions Trophy career, Virat Kohli has played 13 matches and scored 529 runs in 12 innings.

    His highest score is an unbeaten 96, and he has a phenomenal batting average of 88.16.

    Though he has touched the 50-run mark five times, a century is yet to come.

    In 2017 edition, Kohli wore the captain's hat for the first time in an ICC event and took India to the finals.

    Rohit Sharma - 5 

    India's current skipper Rohit Sharma has also touched the 50-run mark five times in CT.

    The veteran has played 10 matches and scored 481 runs at an average of 53.44 and a strike rate of 82.50.

    His highest score was an unbeaten 123 against Bangladesh in Birmingham in 2017, along with four half-centuries.

    Rohit played a pivotal role in India's victorious CT campaign in 2013.
