What's the story
Ever since Google introduced Pixel 3 and 3 XL, we have been hearing all sorts of complaints associated with the two devices.
Whether it is that 'multi-notch' issue or the weird buzzing bug, the glitches on the new Pixels don't seem to end.
And now, adding more to the list, users have reported strange calling problems on the phones.

Issue #1
Audio transmission fails during calls
Multiple reports on Google's Support Forum and Reddit highlight wide-ranging call connectivity issues on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
Some claim that the phones fail to transmit audio, with the person on the other end not being able to hear them talking, Android Police reported.
The issue occurred randomly and persisted for a few seconds after the start of a call, they alleged.
Issue #2
Choppy audio quality, periods of silence
Apart from this, many users reported cases of choppy audio or words being cut off.
One Pixel 3 XL user also alleged his phone was affected by "extreme echo and tinniness, periods of complete silence, words being stacked".
Even these problems occurred at random, regardless of the carrier being used or the type of call being made (Wi-Fi or cellular).
Possible fix
So, what can you do?
In this case, resetting the phone doesn't help, but you could try disabling Advanced or Enhanced calling features provided through carriers.
It worked for a handful of users, but there's no guarantee because many also claimed that tweaking the setting didn't do any good.
If that doesn't work, the next best option would be to wait for an official fix from Google.

Even replacement unit had the same problem
One user was even able to swap the old unit for a new one from Verizon. But, despite that, the problem kept cropping up, affecting their calling experience.
