    What's the story

The all-new Toyota Yaris will officially launch in India on May 18, the Japanese automaker has announced.

In terms of pricing, the upcoming sedan starts at Rs. 8.75 lakh for the manual 'J' variant.

Bookings for the car have started for a token amount of Rs. 50,000 and deliveries are likely to begin after May 18 launch.

Here's more about 2018 Toyota Yaris.

    Exteriors

Toyota Yaris borrows several design and styling cues from Corolla

Visually, the 2018 Yaris draws inspiration from the Toyota Corolla.

Up front, the car offers projector headlamps, LED Daylight Running Lamps and a large grille with glossy black slats.

On the sides, the door handles have chrome covers, while the electrically adjustable side-view mirrors are integrated with signal lights.

At the back, you get a pair of large LED tail and fog lamps.

    Interiors

The Toyota Yaris features air gesture control, a segment first

On the inside, the cabin gets a two-tone treatment in beige and black along with piano black finish on the dashboard console.

The Yaris also offers a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with gesture control, navigation, automatic climate control and multi-functional steering wheel.

Moreover, you get keyless-entry, rain sensing wipers, push-button start function, and air-gesture control- a segment first feature.

    Engine and Power

    Under the hood

The all-new Toyota Yaris is currently available only in a petrol variant.

Automatic gear shift option is available on all models, starting from the base variant.

The sedan car is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that churns out 108bhp of power and 140 Nm of peak torque.

The engine comes mated to either a 6-Speed manual gearbox or an optional 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

    Information

The Yaris offers a fuel efficiency of about 17 kmpl

The manual transmission version offers a fuel efficiency of 17.1 kmpl, while the CVT option, which also comes with a paddle shifter, is touted to return 17.8 kmpl. Notably, the top-end Yaris CVT trim has been priced at Rs. 14.07 lakh.
