Tinder introduces Picks to find you matches with common interests

    What's the story

Tinder is testing a new feature called "Tinder Picks" that aims at helping users find more matches based on common interests.

It provides users with a list of select people they'll most probably match with instead of letting them swipe endlessly to randomly discover people with same interests.

The feature picks information like education, job type, and hobbies from profiles and groups people accordingly.

    Feature

Get a curated list of people with the same interests

For example, Tinder Picks can put people who either work in a restaurant or went to a culinary school in the group "foodie."

Now, the feature considers mutual interests along with users' swiping behavior to present them with the top Picks of the day.

You can see your daily Picks by going to the Discovery screen and tapping the diamond on the top.

    Exclusive membership

Tinder Picks only available to subscribers of Tinder Gold

However, Picks will only be available to Tinder Gold users, which is a premium offering by the dating app that includes advanced features like Passport, Rewind, and Unlimited Likes.

So while everyone can reportedly see their Picks, only Tinder Gold users can take action on those profiles like swiping or Super Liking.

This is another way to push users to upgrade to Tinder Gold.

    Information

Tinder Gold launched in August 2017

Tinder Gold uses dynamic pricing, so when you upgrade, it will differ for different people based on region, length of subscription, recent in-app promotions, and age. According to Tinder, during the first month of Tinder Gold, subscribers saw a 60% increase in matches.

Your Picks will refresh every 24 hours, but you can also buy more Picks, which will be sold in packs of 10, 20, and 30.

The feature works with Passport, so you can get a curated list of Picks from other cities as well.

Tinder Picks is live on iOS in the UK, Germany, Brazil, France, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Sweden, Russia, and the Netherlands.
