    Nubia Red Magic gaming smartphone to launch on December 20

    What's the story

    Nubia's gaming-centric Red Magic smartphone, which was earlier expected to launch in November, is set to go official in India on December 20.

    First unveiled at IFA 2018 in August, the phone features a full-HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, upto 8GB RAM and a dedicated air-cooling technology.

    In India, Nubia Red Magic may be priced under Rs. 30,000.

    Nubia Red Magic: At a glance

    Made using an aviation-grade aluminum alloy, the phone sports a traditional rectangular display with slim top and bottom bezels.

    On the back, there's a distinct angular design with hexagonal cut-outs for the camera and fingerprint scanner, and a strip of customizable RGB LED light.

    The Nubia Red Magic sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) LTPS TFT display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

    Nubia Red Magic: Designed for gamers

    For unhindered gaming experience, the Nubia Red Magic comes with an air-cooling technology with nine radiation vents as well as three-layered graphite lamination technology. The phone also has a dedicated gaming button that allows you to disable notifications and activate performance-boosting "turbo acceleration mode".

    Under the hood

    The Nubia Red Magic is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, paired with Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

    Further, the phone runs Android Oreo and packs a 3,800mAh battery which supports NeoPower 3.0 fast charging technology.

    Notably, in India, we expect Nubia to launch Red Magic in 8GB/128GB configuration.

    Camera specs, connectivity options and more

    In the camera department, the Nubia Red Magic sports a 24MP (f/1.7) rear camera and an 8MP (f/2.0) front camera.

    Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

    Pricing

    Nubia Red Magic could be launch under Rs. 30,000

    According to previous reports, in India, the Nubia Red Magic may be priced under Rs. 30,000. And this price mark is in line with the phone's China pricing.

    In Chinese markets, the Nubia Red Magic price starts at CNY 2,499 (approx. Rs. 26,400) for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant and goes up to CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 31,600) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage model.
