    Motorola G40 tipped to be launched in India this month

    What's the story

    Motorola will launch an affordable 5G smartphone in India later this month, according to a tip-off by tipster Mukul Sharma. The handset could be called Moto G40, which is codenamed Ibiza.

    It will come with a 90Hz screen, a 5G-ready Snapdragon 480 chipset, and 6GB of RAM. The device will run on Android 11 right out of the box.

    Motorola G40: At a glance

    The Motorola G40 will feature a waterdrop notch display with a prominent bottom bezel. On the rear, it will sport a triple camera setup and a physical fingerprint sensor for secure authentication of biometric data.

    The handset will bear a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 90Hz refresh rate.

    The Motorola G40 will pack a triple rear camera setup comprising a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth camera. Up front, it will sport an 8MP camera.

    The Motorola G40 is likely to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

    Under the hood, it will run on Android 11 and pack a 5,000mAh battery. For connectivity, the device should offer support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.

    Pricing and availability

    The Motorola G40 is expected to arrive in India by the end of February. Though the official pricing details are yet to be announced, the handset is likely to sport a price-tag of around Rs. 15,000.
