    What's the story

    Huawei recently launched its latest Mate 20 series smartphones in London. And now, the Chinese tech giant is bringing its top-end Mate 20 Pro to India.

    Huawei will launch the flagship phone sometime in November and it will be available exclusively via Amazon.

    However, it is unclear if Mate 20, Mate 20 X and Mate 20 RS would also arrive in India.

    Design & Display

    Huawei Mate 20 Pro: At a glance

    Up front, the phone features a curved, edge-to-edge display with an iPhone X-like notch and a slim bottom bezel.

    On the back, the phone sports a glass panel with a triple camera setup and flash packed in a square-shaped module.

    The Huawei Mate Pro 20 features a 6.39-inch QHD+ (1440x3120 pixels) OLED display panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

    For shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Mate 20 Pro sports a triple rear-camera setup comprising a 40-MP (f/1.8) primary camera, paired with a 20-MP (f/2.2) ultra wide-angle lens and an 8-MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

    Up front, the phone gets a 24-megapixel (f/2.4) RGB selfie camera with support for 3D facial unlocking.

    Under the hood

    The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is powered by a 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB via proprietary Nano memory card).

    Further, the phone runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 and packs a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge technology and 15W fast wireless charging technology.

    Connectivity options and sensors onboard Huawei Mate 20 Pro

    In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports 4G LTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c (2.4GHz, 5.0GHz), Bluetooth v5.0 LE with aptX, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port.

    Sensors onboard the Huawei Mate 20 Pro include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, electronic compass, gyroscope, an infrared sensor, and proximity sensor.

    Notably, the phone also comes with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

    India pricing and availability

    The Huawei Mate 20 Pro starts at EUR 1,049 (approx. Rs. 88,400) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage model. Hence, in India, we can expect the phone to launch at around Rs. 85,000. Moreover, launch and availability dates should be announced in the coming days.
