    What's the story

Anker Innovations-backed Roav has launched a new DashCam AO camera in India at Rs. 8,490.

The entry-level car dash camera is designed for vloggers, travelers, or just anyone who wishes to track and record their car journeys.

It is fully controllable via a smartphone app and offers panoramic recording in full-HD resolution along with a nifty parking mode as well.

    Here's our roundup.

    Highlights

Roav DashCam AO can cover upto 5 lanes of traffic

The all-new Roav DashCam AO is touted to offer wide-angle optics that cover upto five lanes of traffic as well as has night vision support. Moreover, with built-in GPS, you get location details as well.

Notably, the camera doesn't help you drive better but it records moments and information like vehicle number plates than can be useful in case of an unfortunate mishap.

    Handy feature

It also has a pretty nifty parking mode feature

The Roav DashCam also comes with a parking monitor mode which automatically starts recording in case of a collision even if the car is turned off.

The feature uses the built-in G sensor to detect an impact and triggers automatic recording (power supplied by a built-in 240mAh battery).

This mode should help you identify and eventually track the person/vehicle who hit your car.

    Specsheet

Meanwhile, here's a look at the key specifications

The Roav AO draws power from the car's charging outlet and starts recording as soon as it is plugged in. You can control the camera by connecting it to your smartphone via the Roav AO DashCam app using Wi-Fi.

Further, it supports upto 128GB of microSD card and features a single f/1.4 wide-angle lens (170-degree Field-of-View) that can record upto 1080p videos.

    Information

    Pricing and Availability

The Roav DashCam AO is priced at Rs. 8,490 and comes bundled with 8GB microSD card. It is already available across various online and offline retail channels in India.
