    What's the story

Congress President Rahul Gandhi started his 8-kilometre roadshow on Saturday in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, after performing an aarti at banks of Narmada river.

While he paid obeisance, Gandhi was accompanied by leaders of MP Congress Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Party functionaries chanted 'Jai Narmade' when Gandhi performed the aarti.

Notably, posters referring to Gandhi as 'Narmada Bhakt' were seen on the road.

    Rally

During rally, Gandhi slammed BJP's policies, made promises

Jabalpur West, North Central and East seats were covered in Gandhi's roadshow. Addressing the rally, the Congress President slammed governing BJP and its policies.

He said while the BJP wanted 10-12 billionaires to progress, this wasn't the case with Congress.

"We want that there should be one India and the poor, farmer, laborers and small traders all should share the benefits," Gandhi said.

    Quote

Government waived off loans of industrialists, not farmers, Gandhi says

"The present government is partial towards 15 industrialists. For the past four and a half years the government has waived off loans worth Rs. 3 lakh crore for the industrialists, the same should be done for the farmers," he said.

    Rahul as Bhakt

Before 'Narmada Bhakt', Gandhi was 'Shiv Bhakt'

This is not the first time, Gandhi has been portrayed as bhakt of Hindu Gods. During his September visit to Bhopal, Gandhi's posters as 'Shiv Bhakt' were spotted.

A few weeks ago, Gandhi also visited the Kailash Mansarovar temple.

When asked about his regular visits to temples, Gandhi said recently, "I have been going to temples, gurudwaras, mosques for years."

He said maybe BJP doesn't like it.
