    What's the story

Lord Krishna's life offers a wealth of transformative wisdom that people of all ages—from children to the elderly—can embrace and learn from.

From his teachings on life to his guidance to Arjuna, everything he preached provides valuable insight for overcoming life's toughest challenges.

As we gear up to celebrate Janmashtami this year, let's reflect on some key lessons from Lord Krishna.

    Lesson 1

    Karma

Krishna says, "Do your duty and be detached from its outcome, do not be driven by the end product, enjoy the process of getting there."

He tells you that only when you perform your duty without anticipation of the outcome, you shall reap rewards. The trick is to not get too attached or focused on the outcome.

Do your karma and forget the rest.

    Lesson 2

    Mindfulness

Lord Krishna urges people to practice mindfulness i.e. to live in the present moment and not worry unnecessarily about what the future has in store for you.

He says that if your karma in the present is right, your future will be bright.

To achieve this, you can practice meditation and yoga when your mind wanders in the future or dwells in the past.

    Lesson 3

    Sacrifice

In life, there will be many instances where we may have to sacrifice something to achieve something else (and better).

Lord Krishna mentions that there isn't any achievement without the art of sacrificing. If you don't sacrifice your money, ego, pride, lust, and comfort zone, you won't achieve your highest levels of success.

This also helps you practice non-detachment simultaneously.

    Lesson 4

    Surrender

Lord Krishna in the Bhagwat Gita says, "Abandon all Dharma (duties) and simply surrender unto me (the will of God) alone. I shall liberate you from all sinful reactions; do not fear."

The Lord asks you to identify yourself as a soul (spirituality) and not a body (materialism). He also asks people to surrender to him and free themselves from all worries.

    Lesson 5

    Acceptance

The holy book of Bhagwat Gita encourages people to let go and accept things as they are.

Lord Krishna says that everything happens for a cause or a good reason. He says that one should not cry over what happens or stress themselves by trying to control involuntary situations.

The key is to go with the flow, accept things, and stay optimistic.
