    What's the story

Getting a good night's sleep today has become a challenge for many, all thanks to our fast-paced work culture and predominantly sedentary lifestyle.

While the daily routine needs to be fixed, you can rely on some superfoods to sleep like a baby until then.

Without any further ado, let us familiarize you with five of them.

    Item 1

    Kiwi

Kiwi is a delicious fruit that is also good for your sleep. How? Well, it is loaded with serotonin that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

This has been backed by science as research reveals that people who ate two kiwis before hitting the bed shared that falling asleep became easier for them and they even slept longer than usual.

    Item 2

    Walnuts

Along with many other nutrients, walnuts also have melatonin that aids in restful sleep.

Researchers around the world have revealed that eating a few of these nuts before hitting the sack can promote sleep as they also feature a high concentration of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

ALA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is converted into DHA, which increases serotonin production in the body.

    Item 3

    Almonds

Almonds have also been believed to improve sleep quality and that is because they are abundant with melatonins. These hormones prepare your body to get into rest mode and sleep well.

These nuts are also rich in magnesium, a good amount of which in the body can make sleeping easy, especially for those suffering from insomnia.

    Item 4

    Pumpkin seeds

Wondering how pumpkin seeds help in sleeping better? Well, these have a good amount of magnesium which is linked with good sleep.

Magnesium calms your nervous system and relaxes your body, helping you fall asleep faster and easier.

Many studies have revealed that this nutrient can both improve sleep and increase its duration in older adults.

    Item 5

    Chamomile or passionflower tea

Chamomile tea has been used for ages as a go-to source for a good night's sleep.

It contains a flavonoid named apigenin, which is a soporific and relaxant.

Passionflower tea can also do the job as it has many anxiety-relaxing agents that calm the transmitters and receptors of the brain and contribute to a deep and sound sleep.
