    What's the story

The Vadodara airport authorities have sought permission from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for operating the facility round-the-clock at the city's airport situated in Harni.

Currently, the airport, which runs around 22 commercial flights per day, operates from 6 am to 9:45 pm.

In the last two years, the number of aircraft landing there considerably increased. Also, passenger traffic has gone up.

Improving passenger facilities, increasing cargo transfer

Vadodara Airport Director Charan Singh said Jet Airways is also to launch flights to Udaipur, Indore, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai from September, which will further enhance domestic passengers.

Two aerobridges are also expected to be operational soon at the airport to ferry passengers directly from the gate to aircraft.

"Our priority is to improve passengers' facilities and increase the cargo transport," he said.
