    What's the story

A 22-year-old Dalit woman had to leave college after being allegedly harassed by a man in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, police said today.

Following a complaint from the woman's family yesterday, a case was registered against the man, said Dinesh Kumar, SP.

The man, who is at large, has been booked under various IPC Sections and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Woman opposed his actions but he didn't stop

Kumar said the woman had opposed the man's actions, but he didn't stop harassing her. He had also threatened her and her family of dire consequences. She thus left her college out of fear. Police have launched a search to nab him.
