    What's the story

On Indian Army Day, forces killed seven Pakistani soldiers in "retaliatory action" along the LoC in Jammu's Poonch.

Four others were injured. There's no information yet on casualties on the Indian side.

This comes two days after an Indian soldier was killed in Pakistani firing in Rajouri.

Two weeks ago, the Indian Army had launched cross-border raids and killed three Pakistani soldiers.

According to IE, Pakistani troops started firing mortar shells and small arms on India's forward positions along the LoC in in Dehri Dabsi around 10.15am.

The Indian army reportedly retaliated and killed seven Pakistani soldiers.

The gunfire lasted for an hour, sources said.

Though the Indian Army didn't mention any casualties on this side, Pakistan says three Indian soldiers were killed and others injured.

Five JeM terrorists trying to enter India killed

NDTV claims today's provocation was linked to five Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists who were attempting to enter India at Uri, before they were killed.

Defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said the forces had "prior information" about their plans.

When they were spotted, joint security teams launched a gunbattle "that killed five terrorists," he said.

Weapons recovered from them hinted at a big suicide attack, police said.
