JEE Main results declared: Here's how to check

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the JEE Main January session nearly two weeks in advance.
The exam, which was conducted by the NTA for the first time, was held between January 8 and 12. According to official records, 874,469 candidates had appeared for the exam.

Step-by-step process to check the result
To check your result, head to official website of the JEE Main, and click on the tab that says JEE (Main) January 2019 NTA score.
Then, enter your application number, date of birth, and the captcha and log in.
Your results will appear on screen.
It's advisable to download your result and take a print out for future reference.

What to do if you did not qualify?
Reportedly, 15 candidates managed to score 100 percentile in the JEE Main January session, and three of them are from Maharashtra.
However, those who could not qualify in this session, will have the chance to take the exam again in April.
The results for the April session will be declared by the NTA on April 30.

Advanced
Who all are eligible for the JEE Advanced 2019?
Students who have qualified for the JEE Main and feature in top 70 percentile will be eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam.
The JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted by IIT-Roorkee, and the exam is slated to be held on May 29.
The best score will be considered for students who take both the January and the April sessions of JEE Main.

How will JEE Main rank be calculated?
For those unaware, JEE Main ranks will be calculated based on percentile scores and not raw scores. Raw scores will only be considered for breaking ties in JEE Main rank.

Why will percentile scores be used?
Since the JEE Main is being held in multiple sessions and on multiple dates, question papers will vary.
Thus, to maintain equivalence between candidates who might get tougher or easier papers, the NTA will use a normalization process.
Under the process, relative performances of candidates for their respective papers will be taken into account, and their percentile scores will be calculated using a pre-determined formula.
