    What's the story

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the most difficult engineering entrance exam for admission to top institutes in India. JEE consists of Main and Advanced exams.

JEE Main will be held twice in 2019 (January and April). JEE Main-I will be conducted between 8-12 January this year; with only days left, students must be well-prepared by now.

Here are some last-minute preparation tips.

    #1

Concentrate on all important formulae, theorems, and reactions

While preparing for JEE, students might get confused because of the vast syllabus and concepts.

They must revise all topics in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to memorize better but concentrate on important topics/concepts as per weightage along with formulae, theorems, reactions.

Students won't have time to study topics in detail at the last-minute; for quick revision, they should maintain a notebook for important points.

    #2

Subject-wise important topics to focus on

    Some important topics include:

Mathematics: Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, 3D-Geometry and Vectors, Binomial Theorem, Sequences and Series.

Physics: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Currents, Optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms and Nuclei, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves.

Chemistry: Chemical Bonding, Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Polymers, Bio-Molecules, Environmental Chemistry.

    #3

Do not study any new topic at the last minute

One of the biggest mistakes students preparing for JEE make at the last minute is studying new topics or reading new books with only days before the exam.

This will not only lead to confusion but can also increase stress. Instead, students should focus on what they have already learned and also ensure that they have covered the entire syllabus and revise the topics.

    Information

#4: Focus on your strengths and do not get demotivated

Students should focus on their strengths at the last minute. If they have more than 3-4 days left for JEE Main, students can try and work hard on weaker areas to strengthen them, otherwise, they should just ignore and focus on building on their strengths.

    #5

Students must practice and revise as much as they can

Students must solve as many previous papers, sample question papers, and practice questions as possible; they can also take mock tests.

This will help them improve their speed and understand the exam pattern, questioning trends, difficulty-level, marking scheme, negative marking, time management etc.

They should analyze their performance in these tests to find out what mistakes they are making and try to avoid them.

    Information

#6: Maintain good health, take regular breaks

Students must avoid studying continuously for long hours and take breaks in between, relax, and get sufficient sleep. Maintaining good health and eating healthy food while preparing for the exam is important.
