CBSE Class-12 students sign petition for lenient marking in Physics

    What's the story

CBSE"s "lengthy and tricky" question paper for Class 12 Physics had left many students in doubt.

They hadn't got much time to prepare either; the exams had started on March 5 with English, and Physics was on March 7.

Citing these reasons, students have started an online petition on change.org seeking lenient marking in the subject.

Till 10am, over 71,000 had signed it.

    Petition

    Details about the petition

Terming the Physics paper "disappointing," the petition says many questions were "bit tricky and indirect...especially the 3 Mark questions from Section C."

It was all the more difficult as "we only got a single day to revise."

Moreover, moderation policy had been revoked from this year, it noted.

"We request the CBSE to make the correction liberal so that it won't affect our future."

Mixed reactions to Physics paper this year

The Physics paper had mixed reactions. "The paper was lengthy. Many students couldn't complete the whole paper," said Shivam Pandey of Bhopal.

"It was too much tricky to handle," said Mahima Rai of Lucknow.

"In just one day gap we couldn't even revise," added another.

Meanwhile, for some like Vaishnavi of Patna, "The questions were tough in 2017 but it was easy this year."
