Fresh trouble for Salman Khan? Journalist files complaint against superstar

    What's the story

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and controversies go hand in hand. And now, a new case has been added to the long list of Salman's controversies.

Reportedly, a journalist from Mumbai has filed a criminal complaint against Salman and his aides on charges of assault, threat, abuse, and others, said reports.

But why did Salman allegedly "assault" the journalist? Here's everything to know.

    What happened

The alleged incident happened in April

The journalist who approached the court against Salman has been identified as Ashok S. Pandey. He heads the Maharashtra leg of JK24x7 news channel.

As per the complaint, the alleged incident happened on April 24, when Pandey and his camera-person Sayyed Irfan were traveling from Juhu to Kandivali in a car.

On the road, they spotted Salman, who was riding his bicycle.

    Assault

When Pandey started filming Salman, the actor allegedly got angry

Pandey sought permission from Salman's aides to film the superstar, and he was allowed to. However, when they started shooting Salman, the superstar got a little miffed.

The journalist's lawyer Neeraj Gupta said Salman's aides jumped onto Pandey's car and started assaulting him.

Allegedly Salman also joined his accomplices, tried to snatch Pandey's phone and attempted to delete data.

    Complaint

Pandey filed a complaint but police disposed it off

The ordeal didn't end there. Pandey claimed that as he went towards D.N. Nagar police station, Salman abused him again and tried to get his hands on his mobile.

Eventually, Pandey filed a police complaint. However, two months later, officers at the police station junked the matter claiming no offense was committed.

In the meantime, an aide of Salman called Pandey with an "offer".

    Plea

The matter will come up for hearing on July 12

Pandey claimed Salman's accomplice named Zohaib, repeatedly called him asking him to "settle the matter". But the journalist turned down his idea.

The plea was filed before the 10th Court, Andheri, and the matter will come up for hearing on July 12.

"The court will decide whether the police will be directed to conduct an investigation, or issue summons to the accused," added Gupta.
