    What's the story

A common sexual dysfunction among men, premature ejaculation (or early ejaculation) affects nearly 30% of them, irrespective of age or ethnicity.

However, with persistent efforts in the right direction, it can be dealt with, without you having to rush for costly, side-effects inducing medications.

Here's explaining premature ejaculation, and 5 ways to help you deal with it.

    Information

    What is premature ejaculation?

As the name suggests, premature ejaculation, also called early ejaculation, is a condition in which a man rapidly ejaculates after sexual stimulation (usually within less than a minute), leaving the partners sexually dissatisfied, and often leading to frustration and distress in them.

    Do you know?

How long should an ejaculation ideally take?

In a study concerning 1,500 men, The Journal of Sexual Medicine reported the average time between penetration and ejaculation to be 1.8 minutes for men suffering from premature ejaculation, while the same was 7.3 minutes for others.

    Pelvic training

How to deal with premature ejaculation?

One of the most effective ways of dealing with premature ejaculation is to perform pelvic floor muscle training. These muscles help support and control the penis. Notably, weakness in them often leads to premature ejaculation.

Furthermore, for most men, these muscles are weak, and get weaker with age.

Thus, performing pelvic muscle exercise, by strengthening these muscles, can reduce the likelihood of premature ejaculation.

    Methods

Slow down the pace; Try the Pause-start method

Slow down method: This method requires the man to slow the pace of pelvic thrusting, and varying the angle and depth of penetration right before the point of ejaculation.

Pause-Start method: As is evident from the name, this method demands the man to completely halt the penile thrusting for a couple of moments, then resume again. This may help delay ejaculation.

    Ways to deal

Perform the squeeze method; Seek expert medical assistance

Squeeze method: To perform the squeeze method of preventing PE, one will have to withdraw the penis right before the point of ejaculation, and then squeeze the head of the penis until the ejaculatory sensation passes. Once it goes, intercourse can be resumed. The method is effective, but interruptive and cumbersome.

In the end, if nothing else works for you, visit a doctor.
