    What's the story

An 18-year-old Dalit girl was set ablaze yesterday by unidentified men in UP's Unnao.

She had gone out to buy vegetables. Later, her family found her body just outside their village.

Police suspect she tried to run towards her village, but collapsed after about 100m.

A container of petrol and matchbox were found near her body.

Postmortem has ruled out sexual assault, reports NDTV.

    Details

    What happened?

According to the girl's family, she had left home for the market at around 7pm on her bicycle.

Shortly after, witnesses reported seeing her in flames in the Bara Sagwar area.

They rushed to help, but it was too late.

Her bicycle and vegetables were also found at the spot.

Locals said she didn't have enmity with anyone in the village.
